OP-ED:  THE INTOLERABLE ACTS OF CONNECTICUT

The early history prior to the American Revolution focuses on a string of Acts passed by the British parliament known as the Intolerable Acts….

According to the internet:

·         “Boston Port Act: Closed the port of Boston until the destroyed tea was paid for.

·         Massachusetts Government Act: Revoked the colony's charter, replacing elected officials with royal appointees and restricting town meetings.

·         Administration of Justice Act: Allowed British officials accused of crimes to be tried in Great Britain or other colonies, shielding them from local juries.

·         Quartering Act: Permitted colonial governors to house British troops in unoccupied private buildings if barracks were unavailable.

Additionally, the Quebec Act was passed in the same legislative session, expanding Quebec’s territory into the Ohio Country and guaranteeing religious freedom for Catholics, which colonists viewed as a threat to their land claims and Protestant values.”

In Britain, they were called the Coercive Acts.  That more accurately describes the set of bills under consideration currently in the Connecticut legislature.

So, yes, the similarity between the 18th century British parliament and today’s Connecticut legislature is remarkable and shocking to behold.  Then was inspired the famous saying “No taxation without representation.”

HB 5468  - “Homeschooling Bill”  It is not a  mere “filing requirement” bill.  It is blatantly unconstitutional.

HB  5044   - “Vaccine Bill” .  The title is somewhat a misnomer.  It moves responsibility for public health decisions from the legislature to the administrative state; out of reach of public complaints and demands.  How convenient.

HB 5043   - “Glock Bill”  - This too will end up winding its way through federal courts for years to come only to be ruled unconstitutional.

HB 5550 – “Anti-Learning Bill”.  This is just incredible but predictable from a so-called progressive state like Connecticut.

HB 5001  - The New Mail in Ballot Bill, aka “no excuses absentee ballot”.  This bill will only further  enable election fraud.

There are numerous other bills which  only serve to advance the progressive agrenda while destroying individual rights.  The  only reason these things continue to happen is because too few people are standing up and fighting back.  So, take a hint reader.  Find your legislators and let them know they will get unelected real soon.
