The single most disturbing thing about Ms. Ketanji Brown Jackson’s refusal to define the word “woman” is that she used the word “woman” 14 times in her testimony. A lawyer using a word she can’t define? Yes, it is time for her to go home.
Would she have been more comfortable with the word “female”? Probably not. The cherry on top is Senator Kennedy asking her to define the beginning of life. That too was somehow above her paygrade.
There may be a deeper problem. The art of evading questions that scare a nominee should not allow for what is obvious moral cowardice. The inability to speak clearly and honestly about basic questions also means you don’t think clearly and honestly. Moral cowardice is not a qualification for sitting on the highest court in the land.
And, AND, in spite of all this she also sits on the board of a private school in Washington, D.C. Seriously, any presumption to having a special interest in education and not being able to answer such questions qualifies as a special kind of hypocrisy. Yes, it is time for her to go home.
Meantime, the clown show by the Democrats centers on a hide and seek game. Chief Clown, from Illinois, Dick Durbin, continues to prevent release of documents detailing her rulings over the last several years. This is a routine task, and the Clown Democrats try to confuse and mislead the public.
Ms. Ketanji Brown Jackson’s ignorance in biology dovetails all too disturbingly with the foolish ignorance displayed by Justices Kagan and Breyer in the recent case involving ending vaccine mandates. They had their facts all wrong, articulated disturbingly narrow and wrong headed ideas about what it means to be human, and otherwise demonstrated unacceptably superficial knowledge on biomedical subjects. Is this a weakness for Democrats? Plus, out of all the highly educated law clerks on the Supreme Court, there was no one to school them on medical subjects pertaining to the case? There is clearly something wrong.
Well, one idea to float is that these Democrats are really more like Marxists. Stalin’s belief in Lysenkoism as the guiding theory of Soviet genetic research is exhibit A of how ideology can blot out science and even Nature. It held back progress in biology from the Soviet Union for many decades. Further, this is a reflection of her avowed ignorance about defining the word “woman.”
Ms. Ketanji Brown Jackson is clearly of the same ilk and worse. Not only does she disqualify herself by her inability to engage such basic questions, but the mind bending lack of self-awareness about her ignorance by continuing to use a word she can’t define is positively breath-taking. You can’t make this stuff up.
The subject of philosophy, one of the cornerstones of the law, suggests wisdom is to be found in being able to know what you don’t know. Clearly, she fails that test too. So, the prediction is this: If confirmed, expect more foul ups from the bench by her. Yes, she needs to go home.
